Synergy Class Series 2025

FEBRUARY 2

Megan Flynn

“Ballet for Contemporary Dancers”

Megan's somatic approach encourages dancers to connect with breath and joy while performing complex sequences that emphasize musicality, efficient bodily organization, and spatial awareness. Starting with barre work, and continuing through center practice, dancers will develop greater awareness of their dynamic alignment in order to maximize physical expression and discover greater ease in movement. Big, bold, luscious dancing, from the inside out.

FEBRUARY 16

Gabriel Martinez Rubio

̈Learn a move, share your groove ̈

Contemporary Dance Class with Gabriel Martinez Rubio. This Contemporary Dance Class offers an integrative experience, incorporating various techniques such as Flying Low, Release, Fighting the Monkey, rhythm, and improvisation. Participants will engage in a structured two-part format. The first part emphasizes a gentle floor work warm-up, focusing on alignment while exploring different dynamics, impulses, and momentum. This foundational work prepares the body for movement and enhances physical awareness. In the second part, the class transitions to improvisation, facilitating organic movement and nonverbal communication. This segment encourages participants to explore composition and expression, using their bodies as a primary medium for creativity. Through this approach, dancers can discover their unique voices and deepen their understanding of contemporary dance.
